Birdeye is a figure found in a variety of woods, most notably hard maple. It has a distinct pattern that looks like tiny, swirling eyes interrupting the smooth grain lines. It looks like a burl, but it’s not: the burl’s small knots are missing.
Brideye Maple is a very unique wood used for commonly sold in veneer form, but solid lumber is also available. Its used in guitar tops.

Note: After measuring the board a straight line rip is also executed. The rip will eliminate 1/16" to 1/8" from the width of the board.
