Bloodwood is an unique exotic wood that is at times referred to as cardinal wood, for its conspicuous wonderful deep rose color. This amazing wood is called blood wood because of its sap itself , which is a similar color and consistency as blood: Bloodwood Tree Sap, cut by a trimming tool. The scientific name of blood wood is Pterocarpus angolensis is a sort of teak local to southern Africa, referred to by different names like Kiaat, Mukwa, and Muninga.
It’s uncommon for a plant to “bleed” when it is cut, the bloodwood tree’s red sap is intended to coagulate and seal wounds very much like human blood. With age its tone obscures, yet not fundamentally so it is an extraordinary wood to use in intarsia projects. The wood is extremely thick, with a tight fine, for the most part direct grain.
Heartwood is a brilliant, distinctive red. Color can get darker as earthy red over the long time with openness to light. Applying a thick defensive completion, and keeping the wood out of direct daylight can assist with easing back this variety shift. Distinct sapwood is a pale yellowish variety.
Grain is normally straight or slightly interlocked. Has a fine surface with great normal radiance, and is likewise to some degree chatoyant. Blood wood is very durable , and it has good resistance power against most bug attacks .
