Reclaimed Lumber - Douglas Fir

Give your project the character that only real reclaimed wood can offer. Our reclaimed Douglas Fir is salvaged timber with a warm, golden-to-amber tone, a straight and tight grain, and the natural marks of its earlier life. Each board is one of a kind, and no two look exactly alike.

Douglas Fir is one of the most trusted softwoods for building. It is strong for its weight, stable, and easy to cut, join and finish. That makes reclaimed Douglas Fir a good choice for structural work and for decorative pieces where you want a rich, aged look.

Where it works best

  • Exposed ceiling beams, mantels and rustic trim
  • Posts, pergolas, pavilions and other outdoor structures
  • Dining tables, benches, bed frames and other custom furniture
  • Open shelving, accent walls, barn-style doors and feature panels
  • Restaurants, cafes, resorts and retail interiors that want an authentic reclaimed look

Available sizes

  • 2" x 12" x 16' at $8.90 per bf
  • 3" x 12" x 16' at $9.90 per bf

Why choose reclaimed

Reclaimed wood gives new life to timber that would otherwise go to waste. It often comes from old-growth stock, which tends to have denser and finer grain than much of the lumber milled today. It also brings a patina that new wood can't copy, from weathering, saw marks and the occasional nail hole.

Please note

Reclaimed lumber is a natural material, so colour, grain pattern, checking and surface marks will vary from board to board. These variations are part of its charm. Actual dimensions can differ slightly from the nominal size, so please plan your project accordingly. Prices are per board foot (bf), and the total depends on the size and quantity you select.

Finishing and care

The wood can be left natural for a rustic look, or sanded and sealed with oil, wax or polyurethane for a smoother surface. For outdoor use, apply a suitable exterior sealer or stain to protect it from moisture and UV.

I wrote this without details I couldn't verify. If any of these apply, tell me and I'll add them: where the wood was salvaged, whether it's kiln-dried or de-nailed, the grade, and whether the dimensions are rough-sawn or surfaced. I can also make a shorter version for the product page or a separate SEO meta description.

🌿 Care Instructions (Quick Guide)

  • Store in a cool, dry place

  • Maintain 40–50% humidity (RH)

  • Keep flat and supported to prevent warping

  • Allow wood to acclimate for 5–7 days before building
