Scientific name : guibourtia ehie
some common names. Amazique, amazoué, hyedua, black hyedua, mozambique, ovangkol, and shedua .
Mostly found in West Africa.
primarily in rain forest hardwood from the tropics It is widely used in the manufacture of musical instruments and cabinets.
We provide California exotic hardwoods.
Ovangkol with a curly figure. Our ovangkol is all kiln dried.
In guitar, it is mostly used in the backs and sides. Ovangkol or shedua are alternatives to Indian rosewood.
Guitar fingerboards were also used by Ovangkol.
Color appearance is predominantly yellowing – reddish brown.
Also available in a darker brown with numerous grey and black striped lines. California exotic hardwoods selects and processes the highest quality logs on the market. Always choose the best unique color lumber.
